Plings helps people discover trusted information about places to go and things to do for young people. This information can be accessed through different websites, social networking and mobile tools and local authority portals.

We collect information about positive activities that are organised by local authorities, voluntary and private sector organisations for young people in their communities. These activities provide a safe, secure and positive environment for young people.

Plings aims to be a national resource presenting live information including details of the location, date, time and type of trusted activities and opportunities for young people. It also aims to collate feedback from young people about the activities available for them and to provide tools to help local authorities and other organisations assess their service provision.

This will help Plings to become a major force in shaping the future provision of activities for young people and act as a channel of communication between young people, service providers and policy makers.

Get Plings

The Plings philosophy is to "fish where the fish are". Rather than build ONE website or print 10,000 (out-of date) leaflets we build data feeds and channels to help organisations put information in, and young people, parents and communities get information out.

In practical terms this means that we focus on bolting information together, turning it into feeds with weird and wacky names such as RSS, XML, iCal, KML, CSV - and then build, or help others to build, great applications with these feeds. So why not check out some of the other ways in which you can 'Get Plings' here.
